How a session works
Four steps, from walking in to having the files on your computer.

Step 1
A coached studio session
You come to the studio in Northeast Portland. We start with a short orientation, then photograph you in practice rounds and look at the images together between them. You get direction on posture, angle and expression the whole time.

Step 2
Proofs the same day
Your watermarked proofs go into a private online gallery the same day. You can look through them at home without anyone waiting on you.

Step 3
You choose your images
Pick the images you want. Each retouched image is $130, and you buy only the ones you choose. We help you decide if you would like a second opinion.

Step 4
Finals within a week
Your retouched finals arrive within one week of choosing, as high-resolution digital files. You receive the original and the retouched version of each image you buy.
Sessions and what they cost
The price has two parts. You pay a session fee for studio time and coaching. Then you pay for each retouched image you choose. The one exception is the Camera Confidence Session, whose price includes 5 retouched images.

Team headshots at your office
If you have been asked to organize headshots for your office, we bring the studio to you. We set up a backdrop and lights in a spare room. Each person gets a short coached session, a private proof gallery the same day and one retouched headshot. The company gets a master gallery organized by name, and one invoice.
We photograph teams of 6 to 140 people across the Portland metro. The price is a day rate plus a rate per person, and both are published. Here are three worked totals.

Perfect Headshot PDX is the Portland studio of The Perfect Headshot, a headshot studio in Austin, Texas. We are new in Portland. Until we have our own, the photos and reviews on this site come from the Austin studio, and we label them that way.
The way we work comes from the Austin studio, which has spent a decade in Austin coaching thousands of Austin clients through their headshots. It rests on coaching. You get direction from the first frame, you see the images between rounds, and you adjust until the photo looks like you.

I hate being photographed. What is a session like?
You are coached from start to finish, so you never have to guess what to do. The session opens with a short orientation. Then we photograph you in practice rounds and look at the images together between them, adjusting posture, angle and expression as we go. By the later rounds you know what works for your face.
If the camera makes you very uneasy, look at the Camera Confidence Session. It is 1 hour built around getting comfortable on camera, and its price includes 5 retouched images.
What does a headshot cost in total?

How long until I have my finished headshots?
Your watermarked proofs are in a private online gallery the same day as your session. Retouched finals arrive within one week of choosing your images. If you need them sooner, priority rush is $100 and moves your retouch to the front of the queue.
Do you come to offices?
Yes. For teams of 6 to 140 people we bring the backdrop and lights to your office anywhere in the Portland metro. We need a 10×12 ft room and one outlet. Setup takes about 45 minutes.
The price is a day rate plus a rate per person, with a $1,500 minimum. A team of 25 comes to $3,410.
